Fiverr sellers: is coaching right for you?
Freelancing can be an extremely rewarding experience. The ability to set your own schedule, call all the shots, and earn a living is one of the best feelings in the world. It takes time for a freelance business to build enough momentum and achieve that success, though.
Until then, it can sometimes be quite defeating or discouraging to enter into the world of freelance. In the age of instant gratification and rapid-fire content consumption, sometimes our expectations can exceed reality. This is especially true on freelancing platforms like Fiverr.
Someone new to freelancing might learn about Fiverr for the first time and think, “Wow! I can sign up and start earning money doing something I actually like right now?” And the answer to that is YES, sort of. You can sign up on Fiverr today, and advertise your services to buyers and try and start earning some real money right now. However, that doesn’t mean that anyone is going to buy what you’re selling just yet. You might not have any sales for MONTHS, in fact, if you’re flying blind like that.
Don’t worry, I’ve got good news for you. There’s a better way to get started and get some sales. For that, we need a couple things: patience and preparation.
Here’s why: patience is key to any professional effort on Fiverr. You aren’t going to start making tons of cash right away; that’s just a fact. Think about it this way: if you’re a new seller on Fiverr, with zero social proof or demonstrable experience selling on the platform, how are the more serious buyers going to trust you and your service? Why wouldn’t they instead choose a seller on the platform with hundreds of reviews and a higher rank on the site? Who would YOU choose, if you were the buyer? Someone with no history of sales, or someone with a bunch of sales and reviews that you can see? The choice is obvious.
You also need to be prepared. Here’s what I mean by prepared. You need to have the following figured out:
Know what service you want to sell. In our case, that’s likely voice over.
Have some talent or skill in this area already, and be willing to learn and improve.
Have the necessary equipment and resources to provide that service.
Have proper training to ensure you can compete with the seasoned professionals already on the platform.
Set realistic and achievable goals for your progress.
Most of us can handle many of these things on our own. You probably have some idea of what you want to offer on Fiverr, and likely have some experience in that area already. You may even have the equipment needed to get started. However, the best way to fast track your success is to have proper training.
In my experience, the best way to be prepared for a voice over career on Fiverr is to get trained by a professional who has accomplished what you’ve set out to accomplish yourself, and then some. That’s what I did, and that’s what I recommend for you as well.
