The Best Keywords for Fiverr
Sometimes, finding success on Fiverr can feel like a complete mystery if you’re new to the platform. You sign up, create a gig or two, publish them, and then… crickets. “What the heck! Why isn’t anyone buying my services?” you might say to yourself.
The real question is, are people able to find your Fiverr gigs in the first place?
This question is easily answered by reviewing your Impressions in the Fiverr dashboard. Here’s how you find them: click on “Gigs” in the navigation bar, then click on the gig you want to review. That gig will expand on your screen, and a chart showing your impressions over 30 days will appear.
You might ask: what amount of impressions is ideal? The more, the better. You want your Fiverr profile and gigs in front of as many eyeballs as you can possibly get. The logic is this: the more people see your gig, the more they will click on it and eventually buy your services.
Let’s say you have 1000 impressions. If your click-through rate is 3%, then you would get 30 clicks on your gig. After that, let’s say your conversion rate is also 3%. That means, out of the 30 people that clicked on your gig, you might get an order from one of them if you’re lucky.
So, how can we improve our gig to get more impressions? It’s relatively simple: keyword optimization.
Where to use keywords
Keywords on Fiverr are crucial to your success. They are a tool that allows you to be found by prospective clients looking for creative services like voice over. So where do you put these keywords? The Title, Tags, and Description of your gig. Oh, and with the recent update to Fiverr gigs, the Gallery also has a keyword section built in.
The title and tags are the most important, followed by the gig description.
Examples of popular title keywords:
American Male Voice Over
Male Voice Over
Female Voice Over
English Voice Over
US Male Voice Over
Video Narration Voice Over
Audiobook Voice Over
TV Voice Over
Radio Voice Over
Phone System and IVR Voice Over
Video Game Voice Over
English American Accent Voice Over
Of course, you can switch out things that don’t apply to you. For instance, you might not be located in the US like I am. if you’re from elsewhere, you can state that in the title to target a certain region or dialect.
Another thing to consider: you have to strike a balance between popular keywords and niche keywords. Popular keywords are incredibly competitive, and highly searched. You’re less likely to rank highly for those if you’re new. Niche keywords, by comparison, are less competitive and easier to rank highly on. They may have less searches, but the buyers that find you on those less competitive keywords will be more inclined to purchase your services since you’re a more specific match to their needs.
Examples of Good Tags
I will be the first to admit, the theory behind what tags to use has changed over time for us sellers. At first, we all were under the impression that you should match up your Title keywords with your Tag keywords for maximum effectiveness. These days, they Title and Tags are usually different keywords. Think of them like extra keywords you get for your title, without cluttering it up with a ton of junk. Here are some tags that get used from time to time:
Corporate
Narration
Voiceover
American
Millennial
Deep
Radio
TV
Commercial
The tags that perform best for your gig will depend on your skillset and what you want to offer. The key is relevancy. You want to appear in front of buyers that consider your service relevant to their needs. It’s about them, not you. For this reason alone, you cannot simply copy someone else’s Title/Tags/Description and hope to achieve a similar level of success. There’s so much else at stake with your gig, and you need to take the time to come up with a gig that speaks to your customers.
